The feeling of breathlessness can range from being mildly less fit to being really frightening and suffocating.

Breathlessness can occur without wheezing sounds or with wheeze.

Breathlessness can be caused by many forms of lung disease, disorders of the diaphragm and breathing muscles, pulmonary embolism, heart diseases, anaemia, infection, and other conditions.
